Is there an easy way to learn option trading?

I think so. Which is why I've created this web-based home study course for you to learn at your own pace.

My intentions are to always provide the home study course on the site for free and to improve it as needed.

You can visit the site as much as you like until you fully learn option trading.

This tutorial is like the site, a work in progress. It will evolve as the site evolves and I appreciate your patience thus far. Now I'll share with you where the site is headed and explain the home study course.

The home study course was designed to help beginners learn option trading. There are several different approaches to take if you want to learn option trading, however this course is designed in the exact same order as how I learned.

The information is especially useful for those do-it-yourselfers who are attempting to learn how to trade stock options for free. I've been there so I understand your needs and frustrations. I bet you find it's hard don't you? Well it is.

I learned as much as I could for free and then I decided I wanted to take it a step further so I paid someone to teach me option trading. It was worth it and I do feel that if you pay for the right education it's worth it.

Nothing compares to paid education. Free education can only get you so far. Be careful though there are many scams out there on the internet.

I've designed the site so that 6 of the left hand tabs are the learning modules of the home study course. As you click on each tab you will be taken to the 1^st lesson for that particular learning module.

Each module has 5-7 lessons in it. If you scroll to the bottom of each page, you'll see a table of contents that lists each lesson in the module. The current lesson that you are viewing will be highlighted in bold as in the picture below:

The Learning Modules

Module 1: Option Basics
This section goes over the basics of stock options trading. You'll learn what stock options are, and will be taught the concept of how trading options can be profitable.

Module 2: Option Value
Stock options are so unique and understanding how options are valued can be confusing. This learning module teaches you the basic components that give stock options their value.

Module 3: Basic Strategies
I feel there is no use learning advanced option trading strategies unless you can make money with the basics, so here I outlined 5 basic strategies.

Module 4: Stock Charts
Stock options are derived from stocks so you need at least a basic understanding of how to read stock charts. This section outlines the basic principles of charting stocks.

Module 5: Technical Indicators
This is a follow up to the stock chart lesson. It goes over a few basic tools used by traders to help them interpret stock price movement.

Module 6: Learn How to Trade
This is the final lesson designed to help you learn option trading and it's where all the lessons will be tied together. I'll walk you through the process I go through to find and make trades.

Free Stock Chart Analysis
One of the trading services I belong to provides free stock chart analysis for individuals. It's their way of letting you test drive their tools.
